Just a reminder that Thursday night is the deadline to register for our last event coming up this Sunday. Depending on how many people register for Mystery Tees it will either be a tee time event or a shotgun starting at 10am. Carts are limited so the earlier you sign up and request one the better the chance you will get one!

We will have our final event of the year on Sunday October 11th. Mystery tees is a team best shot event. Depending on how many signup we may have to do a tee time event. Be sure to sign up early if you want to guarantee you have a cart for the event.
Unfortunately due to covid restrictions we will not be able to hold the fall banquet this year.

Just a reminder that since the Club Championship is considered a tournament, those scores were posted to your GHIN by the Pro Shop. If you posted your own scores from those rounds please call up the Pro Shop to let them know so Mike can remove any duplicate rounds.

Calcutta Reminder

Deadline to register for the Calcutta is Thursday night. Depending on how many teams sign up, we may have to split the event into two tee times (8am for Taylor and 1:30pm for Manahan). We will post as soon as we know if it will be split. A fee of $10 needs to be paid before the round to cover prizes/skins. Carts are in demand so unless tee times are split, you may not get one if you didn't sign up early.
90% of handicap indexes will be used and max handicap is 36. Payout is Win-Place-Show (ties will be broken via extra holes playoff). Unlike other events, the Calcutta will have ties decided by an actual playoff (other events use a scorecard playoff). Any teams that would be subject to a playoff will need to be present or they will be considered to have forfeited.
The auction will be at Northern 19 on Friday September 11th with a happy hour starting at 5:30 and the auction at 6:30. Light appetizers and drink tickets will be provided. Be sure to bring checks/cash to the auction to pay for your purchases. Teams have until the start of their tee time to buy back up to half their team at the Pro Shop.

First off, congrats to our Club Champion Matt Erredge for shooting a two under 142!
On the topic of the Club Championship... The scores for this event are posted by the Pro Shop as competition scores. If you posted your scores from your weekend rounds on your own please talk to Mike about getting those extra rounds removed.

Club Championship reminder

Just a reminder that we will be having our Club Championship this Saturday and Sunday. Deadline to register is Thursday night. Tee times will be posted on Friday afternoon for Saturday. This event will be flighted and have an event fee of $10 (there will be no skins this year, the money will go towards prizes) to be paid before playing on Saturday. The grill will be going at Northern 19 for you to pick up a bite to eat at the turn.
In other notes...
The Calcutta registration is open for sign ups.
The 19 and 10-Man shootouts have been cancelled for this year since we are not allowed to have a grouping of that size.
All pro shop chits you currently have will carry over into 2021.

Calcutta Update

We are planning on rescheduling the Calcutta as the September event. The auction will be on Friday September 11th at Northern 19 and the event will be on Sunday September 13th.
Teams registered for the July event that was cancelled will not be transferred to the September event. You will need to register again if you want to play.

Good Morning,
We will be canceling the event. Due to the nature of the event, we are not able to reschedule the event with these existing teams and bets. Handicaps will change, partners might not be able to play, etc. The Men's Club Board and I will discuss if we can do the event in September, but that is not a definite. If you had placed bets on any teams, please stop by the golf shop anytime, starting Monday. It is going to take me some time to breakdown the money. If you had written a check... please call the golf shop and let us know if you would like us to tear up your check or return it to you. Sorry guys.

July Update

Our first monthly event of the 2020 season is coming up on Sunday July 26th. The Calcutta this year will be played with assigned tee times having the Taylor division start at 8:00am and the Manahan Division start at 1:30pm. Teams must be registered by Thursday night July 23rd at the Pro Shop. If you are hoping to have a cart you must reserve one ahead of time! There is a shortage of available carts this year. Also let them know if you and your partner are comfortable with sharing a cart if you are getting one. A fee of $10 needs to be paid before the round to cover prizes/skins.
Please do not show up earlier than 30 minutes before your tee time!

Hello Gentlemen!
Let’s get the 2020 Men’s club season started!
First thing first….The weekly events will be starting June 17th. Men’s club members are able to make tee times 1 week in advance for ONLY the weekly events. Any other days, tee times can be made 5 days in advance. Weekly events can be played only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. To participate in the weekly events, you must have an active GHIN handicap.
Calcutta:
We are going to go ahead with the Calcutta as our first monthly event. The auction will be July 24th at 6:30 at Northern Nineteen. The event will be July 26th. To participate, each player will need to pay $10. This fee is to cover the prize fund for the event. Because we are unable to have a shotgun start, the Calcutta will be a tee time start. The Taylor Division (2nd Division) will start at 8:00am and the Manahan Division (1st Division) will start at 1:30pm. The tournament will be limited to the first 40 teams to sign up. As you all know, we are very limited on carts. By limiting the tournament to 40 teams, we can guarantee that each player would have a cart available. If there are teams that choose to walk or ride together in a cart, we would be able to expand the number of teams in each division. To sign up for the event, please call the golf shop.
Going forward:
We are planning on having the Club Championship in August. We are hoping to have a September and October event as well. With each event, the $10 fee will be required to play. If you were to play in all of the Sunday events, in addition to your initial $40 fee, you would be at $80 for the season. The normal fee would have been $85. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any board members and we’ll do our best to answer any questions.

June Update

Weekly events will be starting up next week June 17th. Starting this week you will be able to sign up a week ahead for your Weds/Thurs tee times.
Right now we are looking at doing events in July and August (Calcutta and Club Championship). More details will be coming in the next few weeks. Any monthly events would be tee time starts instead of shotguns. For this summer we will be charging $10 for each event you sign up for to cover prizes/payouts.
I am also including some information from Mike about the changes from switching to the World Handicap System. If you can, get the GHIN app on your phone. It has a great scorecard option allowing you to record hole by hole details (hit fairway, GIR, putts, etc) and it will automatically calculate your score based on your current handicap.

Sad news

Passing along a bit of somber news... Long-time member of the club, Duane Price, passed away last week. He will be greatly missed out on the course. Memorial services will be postponed until a later date when it can be done safely but you can leave your condolences at the link below. Memorials are suggested to Mayo Clinic Pancreatic Cancer Research.
