Also, be sure to get registered and paid up by 8:30 tomorrow morning!
Calcutta Reminder
Wednesday July 24, 2019 @ 5:25 pmBy Josh Worisek
Just a reminder that the deadline to register for the Calcutta is Thursday night. The auction will be taking place on Friday at the VFW with a social hour starting at 5pm and the auction at 6pm. Drink tickets will be provided but if you want food you will need to order it yourself. Please remember to bring cash or check to the auction to pay for any bids you win.
PLEASE SHOW UP EARLY AND BE CHECKED IN AND PAID BY 8:30!
The event itself will be Sunday morning with a 9am shotgun start. If possible, try to use cash or check to pay for your cart/green fees. If you are planning on buying back part of your team you will need to take care of that before the start of the event! Please keep in mind that for this event any ties in the first 3 places will be decided by a playoff. All teams that are subject to playoffs must be ready at the tee box no later than 15 minutes after the final scores are in. Teams that are not present within 15 minutes will be considered to have forfeited.
AGAIN, PLEASE SHOW UP EARLY!
Another reminder about matchplay and four-ball... We would like to get all the first round matches wrapped up by the end of the month.
July Update
Tuesday July 16, 2019 @ 4:56 amBy Josh Worisek
Some quick course news before getting into the event. The old restaurant is closed. Hopefully 4 weeks from now the new building will be ready to be used. Until then, keep in mind that the phone for the pro shop will be pretty unreliable. Also it will be difficult to run credit cards so if at all possible PAY WITH CASH OR CHECK and make Mike's life easier. Similarly, you will be able to buy beer still (Weds-Sat) but you will likely need to pay with cash (especially this week). There will be no cooler bags available so if you are buying a six pack you are encouraged to bring your own cooler to put them in (ice should be available).
No weekly event for the current week!
The July event is the Calcutta and will be taking place on Sunday July 28th with a 9am shotgun start. Due to all the construction going on we ask that you be paid and checked in by 8:30! If you are planning to buy back your team please show up early to take care of that. We will be using 90% of your July 15th handicap for this event. This is the only event where you get to pick the partner you play with. If you don't have a partner you can still sign up, just be sure to tell the pro shop that you are signing up as a single and will need a partner. Like all events, if you want a cart be sure to register early and request one.
The Calcutta Auction will be at the VFW on Friday July 26th with a social hour starting at 5pm and the auction starting at 6pm. Please bring cash or checks to the auction. Drink tickets will be available but there will not be appetizers (although you will be able to order food if you want). Auction results will be posted to the website the Saturday morning before the event.
There is a hard deadline to register for the Calcutta of Thursday night (July 25th). Mike will already be scrambling to get everything set for the Auction Friday night so we can't have teams signing up late.
With the June event being rained out, the prize money that would have been given out will be distributed to the remaining events. Also, the board has voted to replace the One Man Best Shot with the Two Man Combo for our September event.
19 Man and 10 Man shootout qualifying will be delayed until the pro shop moves into the new building in August.
Matchplay and Four Ball match deadlines will be pushed back due to all the rain we recently have had. If you have a first round match remaining please try to get it played as soon as possible though.
Restaurant Update
Wednesday July 10, 2019 @ 3:24 pmBy Josh Worisek
Hi Men's Club,
Due to having to be out of the Restaurant on July 11, I will be having a massive food and beverage sale today for Men's Club. This will include:
$2 Domestic Tap Beer
$3 Premium Tap Beer
$3 Off Heggies Pizza
$3 Burger Bar
I'll also have random Appetizers sitting out for your dining pleasure. The 6-pack deal will still remain the same. With that said we will have no seating inside the restaurant, so you'll have to utilize the patio tonight. Thank you all for your patience. Mike and I will be getting a trailer On July 23rd, until then, I'm not sure what I'll be doing for beverages, but I'll try and have something up in the parking lot for Men's club nights. This will be the last Men's club in the OLD building, so let's go out with a BANG!
Also, we'll be selling $5 hammer throws at the old building. (Just Kidding)

June Update
Wednesday June 12, 2019 @ 5:04 pmBy Josh Worisek
Our next monthly event is the 2-Man Combo on June 23rd with a 9am shotgun start. Deadline to register is Thursday night June 20th. If you want a cart please be sure to register early and let them know you are requesting a cart. With all the construction going on and the large number of people playing, please plan on showing up early for the event. We would like to have everyone checked in at least 20 minutes before the start of the event.
Match play and four ball brackets are posted in the pro shop and I will be adding them to the website in the next week. If you need to get contact information for your opponents you can check the website to see if they have an email listed. If you are having problems contacting your opponent or getting your match set up check with the Pro Shop and they can get you additional contact details. Please be sure to complete your matches in a timely fashion!
The restaurant has seen a lot of their cooler bags go missing lately. Please be sure to return the bags after you use them.
Also, we are looking for suggestions for new monthly events. Feel free to speak or email with any of the board members or send a message through the Suggestion Box link on the website.
May Update
Wednesday May 15, 2019 @ 3:45 amBy Josh Worisek
The first event of the year will be taking place Sunday May 26th with a 9am shotgun start. The Red, White and Blue is a 3 man scramble with each team member teeing off from a different tee box. Teams will be put together by the pro shop. You do still need to pay green fees for the event unless you have a city pass. Registration deadline for the monthly event is Thursday night May 23. If you want a cart please be sure to ask for one when you register... The earlier you register and reserve one the better the chances that you will be guaranteed to have one! The restaurant will be open early for the event with breakfast sandwiches for sale.
That Thursday is also the deadline to pay your club dues if you want to play in the monthly event (or weekly events) since it takes a few days to get activated in the system. Anyone who has not paid so far has an inactive handicap account. As people pay we will reactivate your account. Please remember that we only accept cash or check for membership dues.
With all the construction going on things will be a bit more complicated on event days. There are fewer parking spots available so if you can carpool with someone that would be a big help. Please do not head out to your holes early... plan on meeting below the putting green so Mike can go over the rules and make announcements.
Four Ball and Matchplay registration is open through May 27th. Play will begin in both after June 1st. You must pay before the first match or your team will be disqualified.
Weekly events start tomorrow. There is a mens club beer deal on Wednesday, Thursday and event Sundays... Be sure to mention you are a mens club member.
Weekly Events begin next week
Thursday May 9, 2019 @ 9:14 pmBy Josh Worisek
Just a quick reminder that the weekly events will be starting next Wednesday. I'll be sending out an update for our first event next week.
Keep in mind you need to have paid to participate in the weekly and monthly events. You can pay in cash or check at the pro shop.
Also, the phone line for the pro shop has been working intermittently. If you are having problems calling in to get a tee time you might need to stop out and do it in person for now.
Also the handicap computer may not have internet for a while. So everyone is encouraged to download the GHIN app to record scores or do it on their website. If you have any questions about that you can ask at the pro shop or talk to any of the board members.
April Update
Thursday April 4, 2019 @ 9:24 pmBy Josh Worisek
We will be kicking off the 2019 season this month with the Ice Breaker on SATURDAY April 13th at Charlies Eatery and Pub (in the room to the left). We will have a happy hour starting at 3pm and the meeting at 4pm. Drink tickets and appetizers will be provided. There will be a drawing for a free mens club membership (you must have already paid to be eligible). Only cash or check will be accepted for memberships at the Ice Breaker. We highly recommend you stop out for the meeting since there is a lot of news this year from new rule changes to the construction on the course.
Speaking of the construction on the course, THE PRO SHOP PHONE LINES ARE CURRENTLY DOWN. We will send out a message when they are back up. The target date for the course opening is April 15th with the range opening next week. Plan on paying with cash for the moment until phone/data lines are back up. The other city courses should be open by Monday (call to confirm).
