End of Season Note

Just a reminder that our Fall Banquet will be this Friday at Eastwood Golf Course with a social hour beginning at 5:30 and the meeting at 6:30.
Also, there are just a few days left to use your clubhouse chits. They do not carry over to next year... Use them before the end of the month or lose them.
October Update

Our last monthly event will be Mystery Tees this Sunday October 16th with a 9am shotgun start. Deadline to register is Thursday night! Stop in or call the clubhouse to get registered.
19 man shootout qualifying ends October 20th... Currently the cutoff is a 67 (with multiple 67s requiring a chipoff day of).
The Fall Banquet will be held Friday October 28th at Eastwood GC social hour starting at 5:30 and the meeting at 6:30. We will need to elect 3 new members to the board so consider people to nominate.
Clubhouse chits must be spent by October 31st so chek with the pro shop and see if you have any!

Week 17* marks the end of qualifying for the Dirty Dozen. If you made the cut you will be getting an email/call about it. If you don't hear from some one give the clubhouse a call.
*We will still be having informal weekly events that I will be entering in to the system and will add to your weekly total but will not effect who qualified for the Dirty Dozen.
September Update

Our next monthly event is a new one: best 3 of 4 low net (replacing the one man best shot). This will be a meal event with roast beef, mashed potatoes and vegetables to follow the event. It is an 8:30am shotgun start. Deadline for registration is Thursday Sep 15th. Signup sheet is at the clubhouse (or give them a call).
This is the last week for Dirty Dozen qualifying (the last week of weekly events for the year). I will post the results next Wednesday and the top 12 players on the WEEKLY EVENTS ONLY money list will be entered into the dirty dozen (individual low net) set for Saturday Oct 1st in the morning. If you make the cut, the clubhouse will contact you with your tee time.
19-man shootout qualifying is still open for a few more weeks at $3 per try.
All clubhouse chits need to be spent by October 31st so now might be a good time to check to see how many you have.
August Event

The next monthly event is the club championship on August 6-7. You must play on both days in the time specified for this event. On Saturday you can schedule a tee time for 18 holes with a group of your own choosing between 7am and 11am. On Sunday you will be playing within your own flight with scheduled tee times (you can check the tee times after your Saturday round). First group going off around 7 or 7:30 on Sunday.
Qualifying for the 19 man shootout is still going on... $3 per try.
If you are doing matchplay check out the brackets on the web site. All second round matches must be played by the club championship. There is a consolation bracket (not posted at the clubhouse) so be sure to check even if you lost your first match.
Also the All-City Championship is open for registration... stop by the clubhouse to pick one up.
July Update

Calcutta registration is currently open until Thursday July 7. You can register with a partner if there is someone you want to play with or sign up by yourself and the clubhouse will assign you a partner. ABSOLUTLEY NO LATE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT SINCE THEY NEED TO PREP FOR THE AUCTION!!! The Calcutta Auction will be at the Elks Club on Friday July 8th starting at 6pm.
The Calcutta itself will be Sunday July 10th with an 8:30am shotgun start.
Hopefully everyone should have completed their first round matchplay games. If you haven't, the deadline is Friday July 8th. If you haven't played it by then there will be a coin toss to determine the winner. There is a consolation bracket as well.
Qualification for the 19-man shootout begins today (July 1st). You must pay $3 before an 18 hole round at northern and tell the clubhouse that you are attempting to qualify for the shootout.
THE FOLLOWING IS NOT A MENS CLUB EVENT...
Northern will be hosting a Fourth of July 3-Man big cup tournament on Monday starting at 10am costing $150 per team.That includes golf, cart, lunch, and prizes. Sign ups must be in by Sunday at the lateset. $5.00 skins game is optional, and flights are based on the lowest handicap of the group.

This Sunday will be our second event with an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Please register by Thursday with the clubhouse if you want to play. They will be assigning the teams. After the event there will be food: B.B.Q. Pork Riblets ( All you care to eat) * Baked Beans * Homemade Potato Salad * Rolls & Butter.
The matchplay brackets have been posted on the web and at the clubhouse so if you are playing check your opponent and try to get your first match in ASAP.

There is a 4-man scramble tournament at Northern Hills on June 4th in memory of Sorin Samanta. Cost is $15 per player (inc. cart and food to follow) with registration at 11am and a shotgun start at 12pm. For more information contact the Pro Shop. (This is not a Mens Club event)

The steak night scheduled for Wednesday May 25th is cancelled (due to weather) and rescheduled for next Wednesday June 1st.
We will be getting a Mens Club FAQ posted on the website this week... Its mostly geared to explaining who we are and what we do to new members but if you see anything we need to add please let us know.
Red White Blue Reminder

Our first monthly event is this Sunday at 9am. Registration closes Thursday night... If you haven't registered yet and want to play call the clubhouse ASAP. If you register AFTER Thursday you will be placed on a waiting list with no guarantee you will be able to play in the event.
You must have paid your membership dues to be able to compete in the weekly or monthly events. The deadline to pay is 9am on Sunday (before the start of the first event). It is also the deadline for matchplay sign up.
The restaurant will be open at 7:30 am on Sunday for breakfast. There will also be a sign up for a steak night ($12) on Wednesday May 25.
Looking ahead... keep in mind that you need to have FIVE 18 hole rounds entered by the June event (June 26th) to be eligible for the Calcutta in July.
