Mystery Tees and Fall Banquet reminder

Just a reminder that we will be having our last event, Mystery Tees, this coming Sunday with a 10am shotgun start. Deadline to register is Thursday night with the pro shop.
If you had already registered for the cancelled Mystery Tees day you ARE NOT automatically registered for this Sunday. You will need to stop in or call to get registered again.
The Fall Banquet will be following the event in the restaurant starting around noon-1pm. You are welcome to come out for it even if you are not playing in the event!
Don't forget that October 31st is the deadline to spend any chits you have won this season!
Mystery Tees rescheduled

Due to the snow this morning we are rescheduling the Mystery Tees event and the Fall Banquet to Sunday October 28. Be sure to call the pro shop to register by Thursday October 25 even if you had already been registered to play today.
If weather looks like it will be an issue again we will make a call a few days before and just set a time to hold the Fall Banquet.

Just a reminder that our final event of the year, Mystery Tees, is coming up this Sunday October 14th with a shotgun start at 10am. Deadline to register for the event is Thursday Oct. 11th. Please contact the pro shop if you are interested in playing.
The weather forecast is looking a bit chilly right now (high 37, low 29). Plan on showing up by 10am if you are playing (there may be frost delays). If you had already registered and have decided that you no longer want to play please call the clubhouse and let them know so they can adjust teams ahead of time!
The number of holes for this event will also be shortened a bit due to the weather. The Fall Banquet will still follow after the event in the restaurant.
The 19-man and 10-man shootouts will be on Sat October 13th. The deadline to qualify is Thursday October 11th. Please check with the pro shop for start times and to see if you qualified.

October Update

Our final event of the year, Mystery Tees, is coming up on Sunday October 14th with a shotgun start at 10am. Deadline to register for the event is Thursday Oct. 11th. Please contact the pro shop if you are interested in playing.
Following the event we will be holding our Fall Banquet at the course with a social hour starting around 1 and the banquet starting around 2. Those times may vary depending on how long the event takes. Even if you can't make the event you are encouraged to stop out for the banquet!
Also we have the 19-man and 10-man shootouts coming up on Sat October 13th. The deadline to qualify is October 11th. Please check with the pro shop for start times and to see if you qualified.

One Man Mulligan Reminder

Just a reminder that the deadline to register for the One Man Mulligan is Thursday night. Stop in or call the pro shop to get registered. Cart priority goes to people who registered early and requested them. The event is a 9am shotgun start on Sunday September 23 with a lunch following the round.
September Update

Our September event, the One Man Mulligan, is coming up on Sunday September 23 with a 9am shotgun. Deadline to register is Thursday night September 20th. This event will have you playing by yourself in flights and you will get one mulligan to use per hole. You must announce when you are taking your mulligan. You don't need to use a mulligan on a hole but you will not be able to save it for an extra mulligan on another hole. This is also a food event so stick around for lunch afterwards. As usual the restaurant will be open early for breakfast.
2019 City golf course passes will be on sale for 2018 prices through October 15th. After that prices will go up.
19-Man and 10-Man shootout qualifying will be open through October 15th.
Deadline for chits to be used is October 31st.
We will be looking for 2 new board members for next year. If you are interested you can let someone on the board know. Otherwise we will be taking nominations at the Fall Banquet.

Club Championship Reminder

This weekend we have our Club Championship with rounds on both Saturday and Sunday. Deadline for registration is Thursday night. If you want a cart you must reserve one when you register. We will be doing skins for individual days but will collect the full $10 before the Saturday round. There will be flights by handicap with the championship flight having the early tee times on Saturday and the late ones on Sunday. Tee times will be posted on the website the night before each round and at the pro shop. We will be using the practice green for hole 9 in this event.
The restaurant will be open for breakfast on both days.

Due to the high number of teams registered for the Calcutta with carts we may not be able to bring in enough carts for everyone. If you registered today give the pro shop a call. They should have someone there until 7:30 tonight or else first thing tomorrow to confirm that you have a cart or not and that you are still playing.

Calcutta Reminder

Just a reminder that the Calcutta sign up deadline is Thursday night. You can sign up with a partner or have the pro shop find you one. Be sure to say if you have a partner or not when you sign up!
The Calcutta auction will be Friday night at the VFW (google maps link with a social hour at 5:30 and the auction starting at 6:30. Appetizers and a drink ticket will be provided. Auction bids need to be paid in check or cash.
The event will be a 9am shotgun start using 90% of the July 15 handicap. We will be playing to the practice green for #9 in the event BUT PLEASE DO NOT HIT TO THE PRACTICE GREEN IN REGULAR PLAY! We have had people almost hit by golf balls.
The restaurant will be open early with a breakfast special available.
Also, don't forget to get any first round matchplay or 4-ball matches played by Monday night!
July Update

Our event this month is the Calcutta with an auction on Friday July 20th and the event a 9am shotgun start on the 22nd. You absolutely must be registered by Thursday night so everything can get prepared for the auction the following night!
The auction will be at the VFW (google maps link) with a social hour starting at 5:30 and the auction at 6:30 on Friday July 20. A drink ticket and appetizers will be provided.
This is the only event that you have the option of selecting a partner to play with. If you do not have a partner you can still register, just let the pro shop know that they will need to partner you up with someone. For this event all players will be teeing off from the blue tees and will be using 90% handicaps. There will be a pin placement on the practice green for hole 9 so if you want to get some practice with that green do so before Sunday.
The restaurant will be open early for the event with a breakfast special available.
The current round of matchplay and four ball needs to have all matches completed by July 23. When you schedule a match, please let the pro shop know ahead of time so they can have a score card prepared for the match!
The 19-man and 10-man shootout qualification is now open and costs $3 per attempt.

Just a reminder that we have our June event this Sunday with a 9am shotgun start. Be sure to register with the Pro Shop by Thursday night. If you want to have a cart for the event be sure to register as soon as possible since the early registrations get priority. There will be a meal provided after the event and the restaurant will be open early for breakfast.

June Update

This month we have the Two-Man Combo (6/6/6) coming up on Sunday June 24th with a 9am shotgun start. We will be keeping the format we used last year of 6 holes best shot, 6 holes best ball, and 6 holes modified alternate shot. The modified alternate shot will have both players teeing off with their own ball and then play the other persons ball for the second shot. From there, the preferred ball location would be selected and the hole will be played out as a scramble.
Deadline for registration with the pro shop is Thursday night June 21st. Please remember if you want priority to get a cart you need to register early and request a cart.
This event is also a food event... We will be providing sliced brisket with smoked baked beans and coleslaw after the event. The restaurant will also be open early for breakfast.
For everyone who has gotten the beer specials during the weekly events, please return the bags back to the restaurant! There has been a large number that have gone missing and if it keeps up you may not get a bag to carry them in the future.
Match play and four ball competitions will be starting up soon... Check the pro shop for the brackets. Cutoff dates for matches to be played will be enforced with any matches not played before the deadline being decided by a coin flip. You can get contact information through the website (email) or the pro shop (phone). There will not be a consolation bracket this year. If a match has players from different tee boxes, strokes will be determined by the difference in course handicaps.
The recording of handicaps so far this year for the weekly events has been great! Just some things to keep in mind though. If you play an 18 hole round at a course, you do not need to enter it as a front 9 score and a back 9 score. Just enter it as one score for the full 18 holes. And you should be entering scores from any round you play on any golf course as long as you played your own ball the entire round. It may be worth downloading the GHIN mobile app to your phone to make it easier to submit scores.

Red, White, and Blue Reminder

Just a reminder that our first monthly event is this coming Sunday May 27th with a 9am shotgun start. The Red, White, and Blue is a 3-man scramble with teams assembled by the pro shop that have a low handicap player teeing off from the blues, the mid handicap player from the whites and the high handicap player from the front tees.
Registration for the event will close Thursday night. After that your name will be put on a wait list in case people drop out.
The restaurant will be open early for breakfast and will have a brat special available for the event (not a food event).
Be sure to check the club members page on the website to verify which tee box we have you down for (shown by the background color in the Local # box) and that we have you marked as paid. You must have paid to take place in the monthly event!
Score Posting

There continues to be an issue within a portion of NHMC where golf scores are not being posted by players. Going forward, the NHMC will be taking steps to encourage players to enter their scores into the GHIN system. These steps include:
- Review of the weekly event winners - if that score is not posted the player will be disqualified from winning the event.
- Ad hoc review of score postings by the pro shop and the NHMC board.
The board will continue to monitor score posting and look for other solutions if we don't see improvement. Please enter all scores using Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) into GHIN. This enables the handicapping system to work for all of us.
May Update

There is a work day scheduled for Saturday May 12th at 8pm (planting saplings, grounding up stumps, etc). If you can make it be sure to sign up at the pro shop.
Weekly events will be starting next week on Wednesday May 16th.
Our first monthly event, the Red White and Blue, will be coming up on Sunday May 27th at 9am. This will be a three man scramble with teams created by the pro shop having the low handicap player teeing off from the blues, the mid handicap player from the whites and the high handicap player from the front tees. Registration for the event needs to be done at the pro shop by Thursday May 24th. The restaurant will be open early for breakfast and will have a brat special available for the event.
Registration is still open for match play and four ball brackets at the pro shop.
