Just a reminder that the deadline to register for Mystery Tees is tonight! Contact the pro shop to get registered. The event will have a 10am shotgun start.
The Fall Banquet will follow the event starting around 2pm.
19-Man and 10-Man shootouts will be on Saturday. Contact the pro shop to see if you made the cut and to find out start times.
Don't forget to use your chits by October 31st and thanks for playing in the Mens Club this year!
October Update

Our final event of the year, Mystery Tees, is coming up this Sunday October 15th with a shotgun start at 10am. Deadline to register for the event is Thursday night. Please contact the pro shop if you are interested in playing.
Following the event we will be holding our Fall Banquet at the course this year with a social hour starting around 1 and the banquet starting around 2. There will be door prizes for those that attend and a putting contest. Even if you can't make the event you are encouraged to stop out for the banquet!
Also this coming weekend, the 19-man shootout and 10-man shootout will be held on Saturday October 14th. Please check with the pro shop for start times and to see if you qualified.
One last note... All pro shop chits will need to be spent by October 31st.

August Update

This month we have our only two day event, the club championship, on August 26-27. There will be assigned tee times on both days with low handicaps going off early on Saturday and high handicaps going early on Sunday. Please sign up with the pro shop by Thursday night August 24th. We will not be doing any skins for the club championship this year.
Matchplay and four-ball brackets are right on schedule and qualifying is still open for the 19-man and 10-man shoot outs.
July Update

This month we have a unique event with the Calcutta. It is a two man best ball tournament typically split into two divisions with a shotgun start at 9am on Sunday July 16. This is the only event where you have the option of selecting your own partner. We will be using 90% of your July 1 handicaps with a max handicap of 36. Payout is Win-Place-Show (for money from the auction) and ties will be broken via extra play off holes. All teams subject to playoffs must be ready at the tee box no later than 15 minutes after the final scores are in or they will be considered to have forfeited.
When signing up for this event please be sure to clearly state whether you have a partner (and who that partner is) or if you are signing up individually to be paired with someone by the pro shop! Deadline for registration is Thursday night July 13th. We can't accept any later entries since they will already be scrambling to get things ready for the auction the next night.
The auction for the Calcutta will be taking place at the Eastwood restaurant this year with a happy hour at 6:30pm and the auction starting at 7:30. Drink tickets and snacks will be provided. You will have until the start of the even on Sunday to buy back half your team if you were unable to get it in the auction. The pro shop should have information on who you need to see to do that.
Qualifying for the 19-man (net) and 10-man (gross) shootouts are now open. Cost is $3 per try and you must pay before your 18 hole round and let them know if you are trying for the 19 or the 10.
The first round of the matchplay and four ball brackets should be wrapping up soon. If you haven't played your match yet please try to get it taken care of soon.
June Update

Our next event is the 2-Man Combo 6-6-6 coming up on Sunday June 25th. This year will have a slight tweak to the event. There will be 6 holes best ball, 6 holes best shot, and 6 holes modified alternate shot. The modified alternate shot will go as follows: both players will tee off and the will hit a second shot from their teammates tee shot. After that they will select which ball they prefer and play the hole out as a scramble. This event is a food event with smoked beef brisket afterward. There will also be a $3 breakfast sandwich special before the event. Deadline to register is Thursday June 22.
If you would like a cart for the event please tell the pro shop when you sign up! Carts will be given out on a first come first serve basis by who signed up for them.
Match play and four ball competitions should be filled up and will be starting soon.
July 1st will be the start of 19-man and 10-man shootout qualifying.
Looking ahead to our July event, the Calcutta, we want to be sure that any people new to the handicap system need to have at least 5 complete rounds entered to qualify for that event.
May Update

This week marks the start of our weekly events. They must be played Weds, Thurs or Fri with you signing up and paying beforehand and playing with other members in your group. Weekly events will only be for the front nine.
Our first monthly event, the Red White and Blue, is coming up on Sunday May 28th with a 9am shotgun start. Registration must be done at the pro shop by Thursday night May 25th. This event will have teams of three playing a scramble with a low handicap player teeing off from the back tees, a mid handicap from the white tees and a high handicap from the front tees.
If you are a new member please try to get at least two scores entered for your handicap before the event!
The restaurant will be open at 8am for the Sunday event with a $3 breakfast sandwich special and a lunch special to follow the event (not a food event). The restaurant will also be doing a fish fry on Wednesday May 31st. Please sign up at the pro shop if you are interested in that.
Also there may still be room in the matchplay and four-ball competitions... cost is $10 per player in each with a start date of June 1st.
Work Day Reminder

Ice Breaker Reminder

Just a reminder that we will be having the Ice Breaker tomorrow night (Friday April 7th) at Soldiers Field restaurant with a social hour starting at 5:30 and the meeting at 6:30. Drink tickets and appetizers will be provided. There will also be a drawing for a free NHMC membership (only members who have already paid will be in the drawing). Please keep in mind only CASH and CHECK will be accepted for membership payments.

Just a couple things...
The course and range are now open. Be sure to check with the pro shop to see if/when they are letting carts on the course.
The Ice Breaker will be next Friday at Soldiers Field restaurant with a social hour starting at 5:30 and meeting at 6:30.
